Areas of Expertise
Since 1979 I have had experience in programming and using a variety of computer systems. As Operations Technology Integrator for UniSource Energy Services, I have extensive hands-on experience in almost every aspect of creating and administrating spatial databases using ArcGIS, Smallworld, and related applications. I am adept at integrating digital and non-digital data from various sources into a unified GIS, and have developed C++, .NET, and Magik applications for data entry, import/export, DBA, and analysis. Past experience as an environmental GIS consultant has given me a diverse GIS background at a variety of project levels ranging from simple biological and archaeological surveys to complex mine reclamation programs. I also have experience in Oracle 8-10 database creation and administration. Recently, I have shifted my focus to developing rich, cost-saving field and office applications using ArcReader technology.

Current Responsibilities and Accomplishments
Administrative Duties: Application support and development. GIS database administrator for UniSource Energy Services UNS Gas division. Data model evolution.

Selected Completed Applications: ArcMap-based field and office applications including: QA/QC; network outage analysis; custom locators; automated plotting; datum-transformed GPS display with snapping; saved visibility settings. ArcReader-based field and office applications including: many functions previously implemented in ArcMap; field data entry and synchronization with ArcSDE; layout template selection and As-Built plots. Smallworld to ArcGIS interface.

Major Completed Projects: Migration of data and applications from Smallworld to ArcGIS. Integration of GIS with new CIS database platform (CC&B) through Oracle. ArcGIS Server intranet applications. ArcMap field applications utilizing two-way geodatabase replication. ArcReader field applications.

Current Projects: Integration of GIS with plant accounting through Oracle. Research into Silverlight as an intranet GIS application platform.
