Trailriders Family Restaurant and Bar

This is one of my four favorite restaurants in Navajo and Apache Counties, the other three being the Turquoise Room in Winslow, Mesa Italiana in Holbrook, and the former Anasazi Inn in Tsegi. It's rare that I have an opportunity to eat in Round Valley, but whenever I do I want to eat at this place. They were closed for COVID19, but then (like the Anasazi Inn) they had a fire. Fortunately, they restored the restaurant, and they're open again.

I've eaten both dinner and breakfast, and I'm quite impressed with both menus. The lunch menu looks good as well. The ribeye steak is one of the best I've ever had. The huevos rancheros, while unconventional, are outstanding. Portions are huge, and could readily be split between two people.

I first ate here while visiting the White Mountains in 2012, a year after the Wallow fire, and staying at the Best Western next door. While driving the various Arizona state highways in the White Mountains, I was struck by how many trees were unscathed, and how much new growth was coming up (especially aspens).
