The mojarra frita (fried whole fish) is a special treat: I order without fries, NOT extra crispy. Perfect! Best fish fry I've found since Field House dropped the catfish. Expensive, though.
I think the people are friendly, and the service is fine. My only complaint is that, while the salsa is good, there's a sign on the salsa bar asking people to limit how much they take. No other place in town does that!
Tacos Los Altos now has a Mexican grocery section, including a meat case: you can order the meat as is, just like at the carnicerķa, or (even better!) they'll cook it for you on the spot as a platter. They also offer herbs, spices, and canned goods, but as far as I can tell, nothing you can't get at Basha's.
