Ralbertos Mexican Food

Not the very best Mexican place in town, but better than most. The real winner here is the steak ranchero; the machaca is also very good. The carne asada burrito is so juicy it will melt in your hands, so use a fork and knife. The salsa bar is quite good, but not as good as Tacos Los Altos or Salsa Brava.

There used to be a Ralbertos on Milton, next door to Little Thai Kitchen, and the food was pretty much the same, but there wasn’t a salsa bar (the site is so tiny I don’t know where they could have put it). It’s now Los Gordos, and I don’t know when I’ll get around to trying it.

Although Ralbertos opens at 8:00 AM, you’ll be lucky to get a breakfast burrito then. It’s been my experience that the salsa bar, beans, and rice are not ready until much later in the morning, though sometimes they were ready by 8:30, depending on who's in charge that day. I've tried their breakfast burritos, which are OK, but I'm not really into them. For breakfast, I'd much rather have the machaca or steak ranchero.
