Pita Jungle
I've been to some truly great Middle Eastern restaurants, but there
aren't any in Flagstaff. I suppose I should like this place, since I'm
fond of Middle Eastern food, and it's very popular, but actually I hate
it. I do not like the atmosphere at all, which is quite sterile and
noisy, and not the sort of ambiance I would want in a good Middle
Eastern restaurant. The only time I ate there, the hummus was OK, but
the falafel was hard as a rock. I have a friend who agrees that the
falafel is not good, but he raves about the baba ghanoush. I suppose
I'd give it another chance if some friends wanted to meet there, but I
wouldn't go on my own. Ever since My Pita Wrap opened, I'm more
inclined to go there.
I originally published a similar review on Yelp, and Pita Jungle not
only sent me a veiled threatening comment in return, but actually asked
Yelp to investigate me for inappropriate content. Perhaps they thought
I was a shill for My Pita Wrap, but Pita Jungle's intimidating response
really rubbed me in such a wrong way that I'm probably never quite going
to let it go.
