La Fonda Mexican Restaurant

Good, solid, dependable, middle-of-the-road Mexican. This place is a venerable local institution, and is very popular with the locals. However, considering that Flagstaff is in many ways an extension of Utah, that raises certain questions. I'm originally from Wisconsin, and this food seriously reminds me of old Mexican restaurants back there. OK, you can't go utterly wrong with this place: it's safe and dependable, but if you stick to it, I can guarantee that you will never experience better Mexican food, and I don't mean that in a good way. For that side of Flagstaff, at least check out Las Gorditas: if you hate it, then by all means go right back to your own comfort zone.
