Hunan West

Ever since I moved to Flagstaff in 1990, this has been my favorite Chinese lunch. I don't come here as often anymore, but when I do it's a real treat. The food may not be Chinatown quality, but it tastes great and the prices are incredibly low for the huge helpings you get. My favorite has always been the veggie chow mein, which I order extra spicy with extra garlic. Sometimes I'll order other items on the menu, but inevitably I return to that veggie chow mein!

There used to be a Golden Dragon where Five Guys currently is. They had a good, fresh-tasting Chinese buffet, and I miss that place. The other Golden Dragon is still open on the east side of town, but I haven't been there in ages.

The last time I was here, my credit card info was hijacked. I always used to be against the notion of having more than one credit card, but this incident changed my mind. Now I consider my regular credit card to be a "grunge" card, which I only use for shopping and restaurants. I obtained a second credit card (through PayPal) which I use for scheduled payments/donations and trusted online vendors. Nonetheless, as for this place, from now on I'll think twice before paying with anything other than cash.
