Galaxy Diner

Galaxy has reopened under new ownership. The previous menu has been restored, with some changes. The philly omelet is not quite the same but is still tasty. I definitely plan to try other old favorites again.

They were never the best in town, but at their peak they had a good fried egg sandwich, pot roast melt sandwich, and patty melt. Years ago, they had a hash-o-rama special that was my favorite. Their cole slaw, with a tangy hint of horseradish, was also one of my favorites in town.

This place was a JB's restaurant when I first moved to Flagstaff; supposedly it was a Big Boy before that, but that was before my time. The other old JB's location near Arrowhead Ave is now an auto parts store.

JB's started out as a major Utah and Arizona presence, but has shrunk over the years to only a handful of sites. Galaxy Diner was a spin-off, and had several locations, mostly in Utah, before they started dying off. The Flagstaff location was the last one left.
