Cornish Pasty Co.
This place recently opened where Mia's Lounge used to be. The old
curved bar is still there, but there's not much other seating, or least
not that looks to be very comfortable. Nonetheless, the traditional --
or "Oggie" -- pasty recipe is the real thing. The main differences from
the ones of my childhood in Green Bay are: 1) the ingredients are
fancier, and cut in larger chunks, and 2) the pastry shell is brushed
with butter so that it bakes golden brown (like NiMarco's calzones).
There are a large number of different recipes, but I just tried the
Guinness stew pasty, and it was so freaking good that I bumped up their
score, and I'll have a hard time ordering anything else.
