Buster's Restaurant & Bar
This long-time local institution has always been a safe bet in the past,
unless you're allergic to MSG (it's in almost everything). I've always
been fond of the French onion soup, seafood chowder, and chicken Sonoma.
Recently the ownership changed, and the place was remodeled, for better
or worse. The menu has also changed, and not really for the better.
The bread basket has gone downhill: what used to be a luscious, moist
zucchini muffin is now a tiny, hard nubbin. The chicken Sonoma is still
good, and the new chicken pot pie is OK. Meh. I'm just not as inclined
to go there anymore.
Buster's is now closed. This is a classic example of trying to fix
something that isn't broken. Buster's had a loyal customer base, who
were alienated by the recent attempts to do a makeover to attract new
business. In the end, people stayed away in droves. R.I.P.
