Happy Bloomsday!

For this year, I decided to revisit my 2017 edition of Finnegans Wake and see if I can find a way to improve its formatting for Kindle. Following some of my more recent publications, I converted the footnotes to endnotes. More importantly, I thought I might be able to use CSS transforms to eliminate some of the scanned images used for rotated/flipped letters.

Well, the endnotes translated well into Kindle as usual, but the CSS transforms wouldn't carry through. Here is an HTML example, which looks like this in Chrome:

And here is how it looks uploaded to KDP:

Well, since KDP recommends using MS Word plus their Kindle Create publishing software, I thought I'd give that a try, using word art for the rotated letters. Here's how the example document appears in Word:

And here's how it appears in Kindle Create:

So, basically, failure. Nonetheless, even though I could not produce a better Kindle edition, here's my new HTML edition, for you to read or ignore as you please. Sláinte!
